Dental decay also known as dental caries, holes, or cavities occurs when teeth are not cleaned effectively

Bacteria and sugars and time = cavities

  1. Within 15 minutes of finishing eating, spend about 1 minute flossing and immediately after flossing spend at least 2 minutes brushing.
  2. Wash and swill water after eating and drinking
  3. Brush twice daily for at least 2 minutes using circular movements
  4. Floss daily and ensure you are flossing under the gums where brushing can’t reach
  5. Remove sugary drinks and snacks from your diet
  6. Increase mineral rich foods found in the natural dairy and vegetables
  7. Visit the dental hygienist in order to prevent the spread of bacteria and decay
