Also called tooth agenesis, missing a tooth is simply not having the right num ber of teeth whether congenital or environmental.

What are the congenital causes of missing teeth?

Its commonly associated with the group of skin and nerve syndromes called ectodermal dysplasia

Its categorized into;

  1. Anodontia(all are missing)
  2. oligodontia (more than six missing)
  3. Hypodontia (less than six missing) The most commonly missing teeth are the wisdom teeth, lower premolars and upper lateral incisors

Flipper and full dentures

Full dentures are for individuals with all missing or unpleasant teeth. Flippers are temporary dentures used incase a person isn’t financially ready for a more permanent solution
